Kia ora,
It's over 8 years ago now that Jacinda and Matt invited a few families to be part of a vision they had to plant a new church on the Hibiscus Coast. Since then, those few families have grown to where we now have nearly 400 people attending the Sunday service at Orewa College. This includes our awesome kids church and growing youth ministry. Then there are the numerous life groups that meet in people's homes, as well as the burgeoning work that sees us reaching out and helping our community.
And while the church is the people and not a building, we've always had the idea of a place that we could centre all our work and worship around. Many of us have talked about what that might look like, and kept an eye out in the area, but as yet nothing has solidified for us. We know that we trust our God to provide, and to help us find the right place, but He also calls His people to dream and act.
So we've decided to move on in the journey by gathering all our dreams about what a centre for Coast Vineyard might look like. We would like to invite you to an evening where we can gather those dreams and start to develop a real vision for a building (or set of buildings - nothing is off the table at the moment).
We will spend a little time at the beginning of the evening in prayer seeking guidance and asking God to open our minds to what He would want for us. Then we will split into groups where you can share your thoughts and then gather and share some of those. It would be helpful if you'd let me know if you are coming, but also let me know if you can't make it but would have loved to have been involved otherwise - we may do another evening.
We'd love you to be part of this journey with us so please consider coming along.
God bless you and thank you for being an important part of our whanau at Coast.
Ngā mihi nui
